Not really that catchy, right? We have struggled with this. Clients have struggled with this. Builders, Real Estate Agents and Design Book/Plan-Book Publishers have all struggled with this. Outside of the actual Hamptons, what should this style be called?
1. East Coast Style on Gull Lake, Michigan
One suggestion was EAST COAST STYLE. The last three we did were dead center Missouri; Gull Lake, Michigan; and Kingsley, Michigan (not even a puddle of water visible), so nope. THIRD COAST STYLE; see previous sentence. SHINGLE STYLE; ohhh so close, but look closer on picture 3. We have been doing this style for decades, particularly on the Gold Coast of northern Michigan; Bay Harbor Michigan re-energized it.
2. Shingle Style in Bay Harbor, Michigan
BAY HARBOR STYLE? The development group would love it; everyone else would just raise an eyebrow in befuddlement. A book called Bay Harbor Style would never make the shelves…outside of Petoskey Michigan, anyway.
COTTAGE STYLE? Too all-encompasing of anything lake-front/waterfront…
3. Cottage Style on Higgins Lake, Michigan
So?…
How about combining all for clarity:
East Coast Cottage Style With Shingles That Looks Like The Hamptons But Not In The Hamptons
So much for clarity…
Should we be hip (is it even hip to use the word hip?…) and use an acronym?
ECCSWSTLLTHBNITH Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue…
An emoji? …..
Or…just build one of our LOG HOMES!
Cheers!
