Before even purchasing your plot of land, take the time to feel out the space to determine if it’s truly the right fit for you and your family. Drive to your potential plot and imagine sitting in your future home looking out the window. Are you happy with the scenery? Can you imagine grilling steaks on the barbecue or roasting marshmallows on a fire pit? Once you’ve decided on a plot, determine which areas will receive the best light throughout the day and in what rooms would you like that light to be available. Taking the time to truly connect with the space, will make your future home feel that much more “you”.
Utilization
It’s also of utmost importance that you think of how your home will be utilized. Where will you spend the majority of your time? If you imagine spending a large portion of your days in your home office, then perhaps you want to have a nice view to admire. In the mornings would you like to be able to step out from your bed onto a balcony and breathe in the fresh mountain air? If you love to cook, imagine how you’d like to freely move around the kitchen.
