Cedar Airbnb – no sales pitch necessary

Airbnb has opened up a world of travel possibilities. We are no longer locked into hotel locations, prices or having to be sold by the latest chain marketing pitch. And, while the company and hosts have given more options in crowded cities and standard travel spots, they’ve also provided some off-the-beaten-path locals and experiences.

This rise of this “shared economy” segment has brought with it a new sub-category of home building inquiry for us, as well. At Town + Country Cedar Homes, we have always been about lifestyle – “Lifestyles, crafted in Cedar”, as we say. Our clients are drawn, not just to the architecture, but to the feeling, the experience of our homes. Hence, the rise of what we call our new Experience Economy Client. These clients want that lifestyle designed for themselves, but want it done in a way to specifically attract and satisfy the needs of this type of traveler. These are not existing second homes that just happen to, because of this new phenomenon, now be available to rent, these are specifically designed for and tailor made to you, the lifestyle craving guest. Great concept. What’s better than retreating to one of our gorgeous vacation spaces, with all the comforts of home, the locations hand-picked to make the most of its environs? Staying in one might just make you want to build one for yourself… ; )

Don’t know what we are talking about? Never experienced Airbnb? Not necessarily the homes we are talking about above, but, here are a few of our more intimate favorites to get you started…

ASHFIELD, MASSACHUSSETTES – The Pondhouse – A Magical Place

In our beautiful screened Pondhouse – feel the breeze as you sleep – see the stars at night while comfy in your cozy warm bed, with candles burning nearby. Hike nearby trails, sit by the fire, unplug from the world! Relax & Rejuvenate! AND – If you have friendly dogs who get along with other dogs you can bring your dog! (s) This is screened only – this is why we are only open from mid April – Nov. 1. It is a ‘glamping’ experience, perfect for those who like to camp but want to be more comfy! As you can see from our stellar reviews – the pond house has been a fantastic, transforming, magical vacation for many people! It is much more than just a rustic get away in the country. It is actually an EXPERIENCE.

I will save some of you time right here, by saying this is not for everyone. No electricity. It is screened only. No walls! You will hear animals in the woods. The bathroom is a 2 min walk. No kitchen. No stove. There is an outdoor fire pit. It’s glamping! You take chances with the weather. We’ve had guests love a cozy rainy weekend and guests book an extra day in Oct. when it was 30 degrees.

Still interested…? Check it out.

A wonderful suspended nest, an amazing panoramic view on the hills, among the fragrances of the linden trees and other aromatic herbs. A garden with solarium and a swimming pool (seasonal opening) surrounded by blooming peaceful nature.

The garden measures 18,000 square meters with awe-inspiring trees such as majestic cedars of Lebanon and magnolias, pagodas, hollies and tamarisks. You can find Nature walks, cycle routes, wine tours and cultural paths.

The Monferrato is, with its deep-rooted enological traditions, an area in which you can find the top quality wines such as Barbera, Freisa, Grignolino and Cortese; it is possible to visit the wine cellars of high-qualified productors.

In the mansion, you can have access as well to the wine cellar carved in tuff of the late XIXth century, with the typical “infernot”, barrels and an ancient press to produce wine.
