Interior finish options for your home are produced by Town & Country Cedar Homes using beautiful Northern White Cedar. Depending on the length of your beam span, we will incorporate Douglas Fir and spruce products.  All log home and timber home interior finish products are handcrafted in our Boyne Falls sawmill or by artisans in our Special Products Division.  Elements of your custom home design should include specifications for log and timber home paneling. These products can be finished and stained to match interiors of log homes , timber homes, cottages or any style home. Most Products shown as log images below can also be manufactured in rough sawn or smooth finished timber elements.

2X6 HAND HEWN CEDAR LOG SIDING:

Description:  Rounded, hand hewn log siding, kiln-dried to 8-12% moisture content.  T&G end-matched log siding
Finished Size:  1 3/4" at radius,  5 1/4" stack height, random lengths
Species:  Northern White Cedar
Applications:  Interior or Exterior
Product Guidelines:  2x6 Hand Hewn Cedar Log Siding is the smallest profile cedar log siding supplied. It is usually more aesthetically pleasing on the interior of homes with smaller profiles or lower square footage. Extending only 1 1/2 inches out from the walls, it conserves space and is recommended for interior use in smaller rooms.  In general, this profile size log siding is in the lowest cost range.

2X8 HAND HEWN CEDAR LOG SIDING:

Product Guidelines:  This product has a slightly wider profile, providing a more rugged appearance whether installed on the interior or exterior.  Since this is one of our smaller profile cedar log sidings it may look better when used on homes with smaller profiles or lower square footage. Extending only 1 1/2 inches out from the walls, it conserves space and is recommended for interior use in any size room.  In general, this profile size log siding is in the mid-low price range. 

 

3X8 HAND HEWN CEDAR LOG SIDING

Description: Hand hewn log siding, kiln dried to 8-12 % moisture content.  T&G end-match log siding.
Finished Size: 2 1/2" at radius, 7" stack height, random lengths
Species: Northern White Cedar
Applications: Interior or Exterior
Product Guidelines:  This log siding is one of the largest profile cedar sidings available, offering a solid log home appearance on most aaplications.  It is specifically recommended for use on the interior of larger homes.  It extends 2 1/2 inches out from vertical walls and utilizing more interior room space in the process.  Use of this product gives a strong perception of building with large, full logs without chinking.  In general, this profile size log siding is in the mid-high price range.  

 
 

TREE LENGTH CEDAR SIDING:

 

Description: Full length white cedar logs, prepped for applying to conventionally built homes. Provides the look of stacked cedar log systems. Requires chinking between the cedar logs. Ask for availability. Air-dried only.
Finished Size: Full log. Sizes and taper vary to provide the authentic log look.

Product Guidelines:  Tree Length Cedar Siding is utilized for building a conventional home while seeking to achieve the perception of a home being built with 'full stacked logs'.  Use of this building system is more energy efficient, yet provides the same beautiful full log look.  Chinking is required when applying this product.  Tree Length Cedar Siding varies in product length and depth and can be applied on the exterior or interior of the home.  Due to its irregular profile, it offers a very rustic appearance. Construction using Tree Length Cedar Siding will be in the higher price range.

 

TONGUE & GROOVE (T&G) PANELING:

Description:
Interior wall and ceiling paneling, available in various widths. T&G comes from our sawmill already end-matched, sanded, random lengths, ready for staining and easy installation.  It adds a beautiful vertical or horizontally layed finish to walls or ceilings. Can also be installed with diagonal pattern. Great accent for any style home.

Description: "Cottage look" beadboard is used for porch ceilings, wainscot and for special interior accents.

Description:  Hand Hewn posts that follow the natural root contour of the cedar tree, are skinned and smooth finished including the root system at base.  Diameter is not consistent and the lower trunk base will be slightly larger extending into the room.  An eye catching design element for stair bases, interior and exterior columns and corners. Provides a more organic feeling to the home.

TIMBER POSTS: 

Description: Smooth finished timbers, accompanied by arched trim are frequently installed as structural bearing member, non-load bearing accents and room separators in timber or cottage style homes.

DECORATIVE CORNERS:

FLAIR CORNERS:  

Description: Hand hewn posts that follow the natural root contour of the cedar tree, are peeled and smooth finished including the root system at base. Diameter will not be consistent throughout and the flair base will extend into the room at the corner. Vertical quarter sections are removed for hand-fitting to interior corners. Provides a very organic, artistic finish to interior corners. Secondary limb pieces can be attached to provide a 'tree house' artistic impression.
