A wonderful and stress free experience has been the result of developing a new custom home with the team at Town and Country Cedar Homes of Northern Michigan. Although we thought we had a very good idea of what we wanted in a home, the various individuals with specialized talents at T&C helped to refine and dramatically improve our thoughts into a final product we will be proud to call our home. With a strong understanding of project management and a dedicated commitment to communication with the client, stress as a result of "not knowing or understanding" was completely eliminated from the development experience. From our napkin sketches, Scott Paquette (Design Manager at T&C) eloquently walked us through the T&C steps of concept plan, prelim plan, permit plan, and construction drawings. Although we were allowed and encouraged to give as much input and change as we felt necessary, the information was always presented to us in a way where simple yes-no answers would suffice in the process as well. As an added benefit of working with T&C, while not living in the Michigan area, first class support has been provided to our Builder (Mark Kattelman of Mill Valleys Builders, Bloomington Illinois) allowing him to build his first T&C home as though he has built them for years. Standard drawing packages are extensive, CAD support available for any additional details needed, and phone-fax-email always available for any questions. As if all this were not enough, T&C presented us with a high quality 3D digital representation of our homes final design, prior to any construction beginning. This not only provided us the ultimate visual confirmation that we would end up with the perfect home we had hoped for, but superbly validated the design and development process structure. The DVD walk-through and fly-by left us in a state of complete awe that we could see such an exact representation of our home a full year before construction is complete!

In the beginning I though this process could be a nightmare. Like they say, a doctor is usually the worst patient and I thought my husband would be the worst customer. He has been a builder for 47 years and is very particular and very outspoken!
Our greatest concern going into this project was the distance from your operation to our building site. There were absolutely no problems-deliveries were always there when needed and there was always enough quantity to finish the job.
With a project the size and complexity of ours, there are bound to be problems. In every case, Town & Country went above and beyond to see that every problem, large or small, was taken care of.
During the building and planning of our home, my husband talked to a dozen different people from your company. Each one was friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. Our favorite, of course, would be our beloved “Sam”, our saleslady. I loved her the first time I saw her and knew Jeff would be impressed by her professionalism and knowledge o f the product. I was hoping, between Sam and I, we could change Jeff’s mind about building a log home - a fantasy of mine for years. But was told Fritz Builders didn’t build log homes. Now, even the “Great Skeptic Jeff” is glad we build our log home. This is a true testament of Town & Country making a building experience so much fun and exciting. We couldn’t be happier!
