TOWN & COUNTRY'S VIRTUAL DESIGN PROCESS

Designers are the great personal mediators between the dreams of new Town & Country homeowners and the skills of Town & Country craftsmen. In fact, new owners often begin their home journey by finding a new friend in their Town & Country Design Manager. This is followed up with a trip to Town & Country’s Petoskey “home base”, where the client may tour the company’s two models (open daily on US 131, just south of Petoskey) as well as any one of hundreds of homes constructed in the last six decades in Northern Michigan.

“Developing the right design starts by building a relationship with the client, explains new VP of Sales & Marketing, Mike Rathbun.  Two model homes, located just a few hundred yards from the headquarters, is the starting point of each new client tour and the relationship building process. In this impressive custom log home, sunlight cascades through the ceiling-to-floor windows in the great room, which is anchored by the massive field stone fireplace on one end and the Peruvian riverbed granite of the open-plan kitchen on the other.

“All potential owners are offered the option to stay overnight here in the model, which people tend to use as a starting point for their dream home, picking and choosing certain features,” explains Sam Jeffrey, one of several Northern Michigan Design Managers for Town & Country Cedar Homes.   Many potential buyers need to actually feel the ambiance of a Town & Country Cedar Home.  The overnights in the model reflect the company’s commitment to detail. Designers walk homeowners through every detail of design, taking into consideration their site, budget and preferences to create a dream home that matches their vision.  Following a home tour, new homeowners can create their own custom design, or begin the process utilizing one of many new floor plans on the company’s award-winning website, www.cedarhomes.com.

Town & Country’s initial designs come to life with the virtual design process, offered to their clients to gain a better visualization of the design elements planned in their new home.  From line drawings and floor plans created in the Petoskey Drafting Department, and with selection of colors and finishes made by the client, the interior and exterior of the home come to life with Virtual Renderings – all completed before ground-breaking has begun on the new home project. “For homeowners building in or outside of Michigan, Virtual Renderings are very instrumental in assuring that the selections and layout totally meet the needs and dreams of the client,” states Drafting Manager, Mark Wodek. The Poe home, built in Mahomet, Illinois, was planned on virtual renderings prior to construction, allowing the client to visualize their home on a replica of their property. “The result is complete customer satisfaction, and trust in our product,” explains Scott Paquette.
